Verizon Certified, Semi-Rugged M2M Modem Provides 4G/LTE Connection for Wide Range of Products, from Vending Machines to Digital Signs.

Connected IO, a provider of embedded product engineering, software development and industrial design services to communications and networking companies, and Altair Semiconductor, the world’s leading developer of ultra-low power, small footprint and high-performance 4G LTE chipsets, today announced the commercial availability of the LT1001 4G LTE M2M Modem, a low-cost, semi-rugged LTE modem for M2M and IoT markets.

Yakov Temov, CEO of Connected IO, said:

“Connected IO is in the business of connecting everything. For that, a low price point for the cellular module is critical. Altair was a natural choice for us, having shipped millions of cost-effective LTE-only chipsets to the market – we knew we could expect a reliable and field-proven modem platform.”

The LT1001 is positioned to serve as the communications engine for products as wide-ranging as vending machines, kiosks, digital signage platforms, ATMs, and numerous other applications involving machine communications.
