Skypatrol® Adds the Latest Technology to its Product Offering

3G GPS tracking units have now been added to Skypatrol’s MRM information platform.

Skypatrol, LLC., a leading global mobile resource management solution provider, announced the addition of 3G capable GPS tracking devices to its product offering. Along with 2G, 3G GPS tracking devices offer Skypatrol customers another option to meet their mobile resource management needs. 3G is now emerging in the machine-to-machine (M2M) markets as a solution for high data usage in location-based services for business application. 3G networks allow for faster data stream for messaging terminals and provide a wider coverage area. The 3G network allows for the increase of bandwidth on mobile devices with speeds of up to 144 Kbps compared with 2G current range of 9.6 kbps. Other benefits include longer hardware life cycles for mobile assets to function longer in the field.

Skypatrol’s CEO, Robert Rubin, says:
We are a global technology company and are consistently looking ahead as we move forward with the cellular technology pace worldwide. By offering a 3G cellular GPS tracking device in the automotive finance and fleet applications, we understand the importance of providing our customers with solutions that fit their respective needs now and later.

Skypatrol’s 3G cellular network capability gives customers broader network coverage area using the largest cellular network. The device provides the ability to utilize starter disable/enable with ignition override and payment reminder to the auto finance market and asset tracking for fleet customers.

Mark Peters, Vice President of Sales, Vehicle Finance says:

“With carriers planning to sunset the support of the 2G network, Skypatrol is giving customers the option to transition to 3G now while meeting their need for a faster data streaming and a wider coverage network.”

Again, this is consistent with our customer-centric approach by giving our customers options. The quality of the 2G networks are diminishing as investment is being made in the latest technologies. We are focused on being one of the first companies in our niche markets to offer 3G products to make sure our customers receive the best service possible.
