M2M Summit programme revamped

The M2M Summit, Europe’s leading event for M2M Communications, attracts participants from over 30 countries

The M2M Summit, Europe’s leading event for M2M Communications, attracts participants from over 30 countries.

Same location, different programme. The M2M Summit will be held in the Congress Center Düsseldorf again this year. Hosted by the M2M Alliance, the world’s largest M2M association, this 7th edition of the leading M2M event expects to welcome over 700 visitors and more than 50 exhibitors. Thanks to the revamped programme, top-class speakers and a new focus, participants should be even more involved and better informed.

Last year the M2M Summit welcomed record numbers of visitors and exhibitors. “But we don’t want to rest on the laurels of this success,” declares Eric Schneider, 1st Chairman of the M2M Alliance e.V. “To further enhance the quality of the M2M Summit and to offer a platform for even more sectors and companies, we have decided to transform some specific programme points.” In the morning, there will be an expert panel discussion. As always, the programme features key-notes by top-quality speakers. “This year the workshops will be professionally moderated. And at the end of the event, the participants will receive a concise summary,” says Schneider.

The Speakers’ Corner, which was introduced last year, has also been slightly changed. These 10-minute presentations aim to inform the M2M Summit visitors about the most important topics and new products in the M2M sector. Sweden is planned as official partner country for 2013. The Netherlands and Canada, who were partner countries in previous years, will again be represented by trade delegations at the Summit.

Machine-to-Machine communication is one of the largest growth markets and is considered as a leading innovation driver in many sectors. The M2M Summit 2012 attracted developers, users and research institutes from 34 countries. The M2M Alliance expects a further increase in participant numbers this year. In order to enhance internationalization, the Summit language is English.
Eric Schneider, explains:

“With our event we want to provide companies, research institutions and other interested parties with a platform upon which to inform themselves about the latest developments of M2M technology and to exchange with each other.”

International cooperation and common standards are the most important topics for the M2M Alliance over the coming years.

On the eve of the Summit, the M2M Alliance is hosting a “Meet & Greet” networking evening with representatives of the partner country, association members, invited guests and selected delegates. The M2M Summit takes place this year under the patronage of Dirk Elbers, Mayor of Düsseldorf. Cooperation partners of the M2M Summit are Mobile Capital Düsseldorf and the Düsseldorf Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

To attend the M2M Summit free of charge, Visitors should register by July 31st via the official website (www.m2m-summit.com).
